Beach Bali

Today in Bali a walk down the beach gave a glimpse of different people using this beach. There are children looking for empty bottles for recycling, bikini-clad westerners adding to their already dark dark tan, women out in the water searching for sea shells (and the yummy morsels inside), at the end of the beach some Indonesian children are playing the water, jumping off a boat, and frolicking about.

Later, for dinner, we go to another seaside for a meal by the water. All down the beach there are such restaurants with open dining rooms and tables out on the sand. We order typical Indonesian fare, including a whole fried fish. We suspect that it is all made for foreign tastes. But it is a fun atmosphere with strolling musicians and people hitting the beer.

Tomorrow we have to go home. Our idyllic lazy vacation is over too soon.

Bali High

Today in Bali I got a massage on the beach while looking at the aqua blue waters beyond the white sugar sand before me.

This is the life!

After waiting for 2 hours to get through immigration, this relaxation is perfect.
Down the beach some local people are laying offerings in front of an altar. There are dressed in white and chanting. The temple behind them is dressed up too.

The sun beats down hot, but we have lounges with an umbrella over them.

In this particular spot, there is a terrible cross current.
I walk up the beach and get in the water several hundred yards away.
The current takes me back to my towel in a few minutes.
Even swimming is done for you!
